For a Friend

There is a couple at church whose son has been pretty sick and I wanted to send them a card. The sentiment "Praying for you" is inside.  I stamped the text along the bottom in Going Gray so it would be subtle. The feathers are Aqua Mist and the swirl is Smoky Slate.  For the spatter I rubbed an ink pad on an acrylic block, wet it up with an aqua painter and then tapped the aqua painter  on my hand to spritz the paper. I did this with Going Gray, Aqua Mist and Hawaiian Shores.  Then I added some enamel dots to finish it off. Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Stamps: Happy Trails, Background Basics: Text Style (PTI)
Paper: White (SU)
Ink: Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores (PTI), Going Gray, Smoky Slate (SU)
Accessories: Enamel Dots (Teresa Collins-Memories), aqua painter

Another 4th of July CTD #247 Card

My second card today is also for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge. It was a bit more work than the first card.  Here's the challenge:

I used the new PTI set "Round Repeats" for the focus with a rhinestone in the center.  I added a strip of Night of Navy retired print DSP to the left and a piece of red card stock on the bottom that I ran through my Big Shot with a dots embossing folder. Then I stamped the sentiment and added the die cut the letters.  There actually was a bit more fussing, moving, snipping, twiddling going on but you don't need to know about all that :-)

I didn't get a very good picture of the rhinestone. I think I'll have to go back and try that again.

Supplies:
Stamps: Round Repeats, Stylish Sentiments: Birthday (PTI)
Paper: White, Real Red, Crumb Cake, Night of Navy Prints DSP ret. (SU)
Ink: Night of Navy, Real Red, Crumb Cake (SU)
Accessories: Typeset Alphabet dies (SU ret.), rhinestone (SU)

Happy 4th of July and CTD #247

The 4th of July is quickly approaching and I thought I better get my cards done.  I made 2 cards today and they are both for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge.

The 1st card is a series of layered stars. I contemplated several different colors for the card base but decided to go with a simple white background and to pierce around the star.

Both the largest star and smallest stars are up on dimensionals.  A rhinestone finishes off the center star.

The 2nd card is coming up. Stay tuned!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Saturday with Round Repeats

I got my Papertrey order yesterday afternoon so I had to get to my stamp room today and dash off a quick card with my new Round Repeats. This is so easy and fun!

The vertical stamp is Hawaiian Shores, the horizontal one is Aqua Mist and the two cross pieces are Melon Berry.  I stamped a black center and added a stick on silver rhinestone.  This is going to be fun picking color combos.

Have a great Saturday!

Supplies:
Stamps: Round Repeats, Thanks All Ways (PTI)
Paper: Natural Ivory (SU)
Ink: Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist, Melon Berry (PTI), Basic Black (SU)

Flying By Again for Dynamic Duos #57 & Simon Says...Transport

I just couldn't resist making another paper airplane card today. It was just calling my name :-)

This is for the Dynamic Duos Challenge to use Pear Pizzaz and Black and the Simon Says...Transport Challenge.

I guess I have too heavy a hand cuz I kept mushing the plane's trail. I'd stamp it on scrap paper and then when I did it on the card...smoosh! And it's really hard to see in the picture but the white panel on the right side is up on dimensionals.  There you have it.  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Stamps: Flying By (Lawn Fawn)
Paper: White (PTI), Black (SU)
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Basic Black (SU)

Flying By With a Quick Card (CTD246 & Simon Says...Transport)

I went down to my stamping room to put some things away and my new Flying By stamp set was sitting on the table. It was too much to resist.  Just a quick card. Shouldn't take too long. Right?

I had already checked my computer for color challenges this morning and thought I could dash out these little planes in the colors of this week's Color Throwdown Challenge and the Simon Says Challenge is "transportation".

I popped one of the planes up on a dimensional so it's not a totally one layer card.

Thanks for flying by!  Have a great week!

RS#66 for Father's Day

I figured I better get started on my Father's Day cards. It will be here before I'm ready for it.  This card is for my hubby who loves woodworking. I used the Retro Sketches layout but reversed it.

This was one of those cards where you assemble, disasemble, change the colors, assemble, disassemble, add some embossing, assemble...... You get the idea. This is the final result.   I had some silver wrapping paper that I had saved (you can't just throw stuff like that away) so I used it on the tools. Hope he likes it. Happy Friday!

Here you can see the tools. They were flopping all over so I added a touch of glue behind each tool to hold them in place but not look like they were totally glued down.

Supplies by Stampin'Up unless noted:
Stamps: On Your Birthday
Paper: Creamy Caramel, Bordering Blue, Chocolate Chip, Night of Navy, Black, White, Regals DSP Stack, Silver wrapping paper (non SU)
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories: Vintage Brads, dimensionals

Dynamic Duos #55 and Freshly Made Sketches #88

I'm back home from visiting my daughter in Atlanta.  Since I live in Washington (the state), it takes me a few days to get my body back in sync from the time change. I haven't stamped in a few days and wanted to get back to it so I spent some time in my craft room yesterday evening.

This card is for the Freshly Made Sketches and Dynamic Duos Challenges.

I stamped the bicycle and was so proud of myself because the 2 parts lined up perfectly. Next came the basket. Not too bad.  Finally the presents. OK, here is where things broke down. I used markers so that I could get 2 colors.  Not great looking but I could live with it. Next was the bows.  Really didn't think much of the bows after I stamped them so I added some Dazzling Details to give them sparkle. Ah, looked pretty good.  I went on to stamp the sentiment, I punched the border, added the Raspberry strip at the bottom and now it's time to pop up the bicycle panel on dimensionals.

Surely by now the bows are dry. Right?  Not even close. I smooshed them big time! Now what to do?  I'm almost done and I've wrecked the bows!  So I sort of scraped around them, added a bit more Dazzling Details and let it sit overnight.  My husband says no one will know. Shh! Don't tell.

The bows do sparkle prettily and I guess they don't look so bad in real life :-)

Ink: Wisteria Wonder, Raspberry Ripple, Crumb Cake (SU)
