Happy Anniversary to my DH Plus cQc #208

Today is our anniversary and this is the card that I gave to my husband. We are building a house on 10 acres and he just bought himself a tractor so that he and the land can become one :-)  I got the SU set "Harvest Blessings" with that in mind. When looking through my sets for a sentiment I thought PTI's "Pedal Pusher" was perfect.

Here you can see some of the layers. I normally would have added a smaller enamel dot but that one was sitting on my desk abandoned from a previous project.

Here is the inside. I added the date with the new SU Remember This and That Rotary Stamp. I'm a bit disappointed in it. The 3 and 0 are pretty far apart.

This card also works for this week's colourQ Challenge.  I added Crumb Cake.

That's it. Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Stamps: Harvest Blessings, Remember This and That Rotary Stamp (SU), Pedal Pusher (PTI)
Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Basic Black (SU)
Ink: Crumb Cake, Basic Black
Accessories: Twine, black enamel dot, dimesionals
Tools: Linen & Canvas Impression Plate, Tag Sale #3 die (PTI), Fishtail Flag Stax (MFT)

Papertrey September Blog Hop Challenge

Finally some time back in the "stamping room".  Building a house is so much work. Not that I'm personally doing any of the labor but there is always something that the builder wants us to pick out or make a decision on.  Yesterday, however, I had some time to play and since I just got Papertrey's new Holiday Cheer set I put it to work for Papertrey's Blog Hop Challenge.

I had also planned on getting into this week's Case Study challenge so the layout comes from that but I just didn't quite finish in time. After adding the wreath to the background I tried to figure out the best place to put the sentiment.  I couldn't make it work next to the wreath so I added it on top of the wreath.

I added a couple clear SU rhinestones which I colored with a red Sharpie pen. Each layer is popped up on a dimensional.

Thanks for stopping by!

Stuck on Ink Splash - Anniversary

I haven't had time to sit down and make cards in a while. We are building a new house and it really consumes my time. However, I needed an anniversary card for my parents so got down to my stamping room this afternoon.  I had to get it into the mail quickly so the photo is not that great.

Anyway, while flipping through my sets I made an amazing discovery. The Ink Splash set by Neat and Tangled comes with 2 splash images. The large one and a smaller one. If you look closely at the card you will see 3 different sizes of splash. That was the "aha".  The Happy Trails set by PTI includes a teeny tiny ink splash (see it on the left side) and IT IS IDENTICAL!  WooHoo!

Now a word about the sentiment.  I don't like it's placement.  I think that it would be better over to the right so that it isn't bisected by the splash. This is one of the reasons that I'm migrating away from rubber stamps to clear stamps.  I don't really want to stamp the whole card again so I guess it stays as is.

Hope you enjoy my ink splashes. Have a great Friday!
