The Challenge #7

I got my new PTI order yesterday and had to start playing.  I found this sketch challenge and thought it would be a good one to use.

As I looked at the sketch again this morning I realized that I left off the left side strip. Oops!  I'm still going to upload this but I'll have to try again later :-)

I can't seem to get away from the Circle Scribbles and I thought they would go well with the new Splat set.  After all the stamping I used my spritzer to add a bit of color to the background.  Then a few sequins and an enamel dot and I'm done.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Scribbling a Thank You

I went looking for inspiration for a thank you card that I needed to make and found this week's Freshly Made Sketches and ColourQ challenges.

For the flower I inked up the back side of the Circle Scribble stamp in Pool Party and then spritzed it with water before stamping on Neenah Solar White. Then I stamped the scribble in Chocolate Chip and cut it out freehand.  It is popped up on dimensionals. The turquoise plaid is wash tape. I stamped So Stripey in Chocolate Chip and freehand cut the flag.  I originally stamped the sentiment directly on the card in Versamark and embossed with gold embossing powder but my powder was old and chunky, glittery and I really didn't like the look. So I restamped the sentiment in gold ink and turned it into a flag.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!!

Mother's Day

Here is the card that I gave to my mom for Mother's Day.  Sorry it's kinda dark. Every time I lightened it up in my software the background turned a really bright, yucky color.  Anyway I wanted to try the embossing folder stamping technique for the background. I went to get my watercolor paper and couldn't find it.  I moved a couple months ago and apparently it hasn't shown up. So I used Neena Solar White instead and it just doesn't work as well. It took me 3 or 4 tries to get this background.  It doesn't look too bad IRL but I went out and got some watercolor paper yesterday so will have to try again :-)

I'm adding this card to the Keep It Simple - Watercolor challenge.

I had a great day with my mom yesterday. I hope that you did too! Thanks for stopping by!
