CAS Four Frames Masculine Card

I wanted a masculine card that was simple and no frills. Well this is no frills all right but I think it's a bit too simple. I think maybe tomorrow I'll give it another go and step it up a bit.

The stamp set is called Four Frames and will be available as an SU 2011-2012 catalog sneak peak starting April 1st.  To see how I did the frame you can check out the video on the Stampin' Pretty website.

DD Birthday Card

This is for my daughter whose birthday is today so I can finally post this card.  I CASE'd it from this card with a few changes of my own.

The base is Melon Mambo which is such a pretty color. I haven't used it much but am falling in love with it especially when combined with Pretty in Pink.  The next layer is Whisper White edged with the Eyelet border punch.  I used retired Pretty in Pink Prints Pack DP for the layer under the circle which was cut out with a Nestability die and popped up on a dimensional.  The cupcake is Melon Mambo and Pear Pizzaz, also popped up on a dimensional.  The flower button is from the Brights collection and has a piece of Baker's Twine threaded through it.  5/8" white taffeta ribbon is layered over the Pink DP with another piece of Baker's Twine tied over that for the final touch.

Stamps: Create a Cupckae
Paper: Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink Prints DP

Playful Birthday

I needed a quick birthday card and decided to make a 3x3 card using the hostess set Playful Pieces. I haven't played with this set yet and it has so many possibilities.

For this card I started with a 6x3 piece of Baja Breeze and layered a piece of Nursery Suite Speciality DP on that.  The present is stamped in Regal Rose with an Early Espresso Bow. I sponged Regal Rose around the edge. This is layered on Early Espresso and then Regal Rose.  I didn't have thin ribbon to match so I used some Martha Stewart ribbon that is pretty close Baja Breeze.  That's it.  Pretty quick!

Stamps: Playful Pieces
Paper: Regal Rose, Early Espresso
Ink: Baja Breeze, Regal Rose, Early Espresso, Whisper White, Nursery Suite Specialty DP

Welcome Baby

I made this card for our music pastor's wife who had a baby this week. I CASE'd the layout from a card by my daughter (brierrose on SCS).

The cute little jammies were stamped in black using Versafine ink and then colored with Pretty in Pink and Melon Mambo markers.  I put a wash of Barely Banana around the outside of the jammies. The hanger is colored in with Creamy Caramel.  I used Nestabilities for the circles. A couple of brads in the corner and some Baker's Twine wrapped up the card.

Stamps: Baby Bundle, Short & Sweet
Paper: Melon Mambo (pad & marker), black, Pretty in Pink marker, Barely Banana
Ink: Melon Mambo, white, Pretty in Pink Prints DP
Accessories: Brads, Baker's Twine, Nestabilities, dimensionals, corner rounder

Sweet Summer

I saw a cute card using the Sweet Summer stamp set and really wanted to CASE it but I also wanted to change it up a bit so that it was my card.

I went through lots of color combos but ended up with Old Olive and Vanilla. Getting the flower heads lined up with the stems was more challenging than I thought it would be. I ended up cutting off just a tad from the top of the stem stamp so that it would be easier to line it up. And that is using clear stamps!  I popped up the flower panel on dimensionals and layered it on the Old Olive layer that I embossed with the SU lattice embossing folder.  I just got some Baker's Twine and was itching to use it and this yellow worked perfectly with the Daffodil Delight flowers!

Stamps: Sweet Summer
Paper: Old Olive, Very Vanilla
Ink: Black, Markers in Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and Cajun Craze
Accessories: Lattice EF, Baker's Twine, dimensionals

Another Just Believe Card

I've had this set for awhile but haven't played with it until today.  There are so many things you can do with this set so I'm looking forward to even more cards.

I stamped the image on white and then used the color spritzer with a chocolate chip marker  for the background. This panel is popped up on dimensionals.  I'm on a mission to use up retired paper and so I used Afternoon Tea behind the image.  Next a little chocolate chip twill on the side. The white layer is embossed with the lattice embossing folder and a couple antique brads finish up the corner.

Stamps: Just Believe
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Soft Sky, Whisper White, Afternoon Tea (ret)
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Lattice EF, Chocolate Chip twill, antique brads, dimensionals, color spritzer

Just Believe

I've had this set for a while but haven't used it yet. The Pals Paper Arts PPA83 color challenge from last week used Baja Breeze, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake. I really like this color combo and it seemed perfect for this set and the Parisian Breeze DP that I have been hoarding.  I do way too much of that :-)

The card is straight forward so not much explanation is needed. The flower panel is popped up on dimensionals and the Baja Breeze seam binding gives this card a soft, pretty look!

Stamps: Just Believe, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Parisian Breeze DP (ret)
Ink: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede marker
Accessories: Baja Breeze seam binding, linen thread, Jewelry Tag punch, dimensionals

Cowboy Kid

This was a fun card to make using my little Cowboy Kid.  I did it for SSSC107 and it just fell into place.

I have been hoarding my Outlaw DP but this seemed like the time to get it out and use it.  I usually clean off the edges of my paper after cutting but I left these raggedy for a more country look. I used my stamp-a-majig to get a perfect placement on the vanilla piece so that I could get the most cowboy and his horse as possible. I then colored him with markers.  I recently got some Baker's Twine and this guy is my first use of it. I really like how it adds to the card. I'm also excited that SU is adding Baker's Twine in their upcoming Summer Mini catalog. I then sponged some Sage Shadow around the edges but it's really hard to see it in the picture. Lastly I punched the border with a Martha Stewart border bunch.  I hope you like my little guy!

Stamps: Cowboy Kid
Paper: Early Espresso, Sage Shadow, Really Rust, Very Vanilla
Ink: Black, Markers in Early Espresso, Sage Shadow, Creamy Caramel, Really Rust, Blush Blossom, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: MS punch (easy to sub an SU punch), Baker's Twine

Because I Care

I case'd this card from the March Stampin' Success magazine. I am trying to use up retired paper so I changed the colors and added some detail.

I stamped the hydrangea in black and then used a Pretty in Pink marker to color in the flower.  I used my aquapainter and Kiwi Kiss on the leaves. I tried to darken up the centers of the flowers with the aquapainter and Rose Red but I should have used watercolor paper instead of Whisper White because it kept fading away.  Oh well, live and learn. The sentiment is stamped in Sahara Sand and there is an added row of small flowers in Pretty in Pink.  I embossed the Pretty in Pink layer with Vintage Wallpaper EF and added a strip of Raspberry Tart DP over that as well as under the flower layer. The scalloped layer is some retired Rose Red prints DP. The final touch is the Rose Red button.

Stamps: Because I Care
Paper: Black, Sahara Sand, Pretty in Pink, Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red
Ink: Black, Pretty in Pink marker, Rose Red Prints DP, Raspberry Tart DP, Whisper White
Accessories: Vintage Wallpaper EF, Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch, Rose Red button, linen thread, aquapainter

Art of Life Take 2

Another Art of Life card. I'm trying to use some of my neglected, retired, favorite stamps.

I had stamped some images for my previous Art of Life card that I didn't use and they seemed perfect for the SplitCoastStampers SC321 weekly sketch challenge.  It's a pretty straight forward card. The flowers are popped up on dimensionals. I've also been having fun using the Jewelry Tag punch and Vintage Trinkets. The little tags are punched out of Cameo Coral, Rose Red and Pretty in Pink paper to match the Raspberry Tart DP. I left a sentiment off the front of the card so that I can decide what to put inside when I need it at a later time.

Stamps: Art of Life
Paper: Rose Red, Cameo Coral, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla
Ink: Rose Red, Always Artichoke (markers)
Accessories: Jewelry Tag punch, Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch, Vintage Trinkets, Victoria Crochet Trim, linen thread, dimensionals
