Happy Anniversary to my Brother & SIL

Hi! It's been eons since I have posted anything. It's been a crazy year but I guess you all know that plus my daughter moved states for a new job and I helped her with that.

Here is a card that I made for my brother & sister-in-law's anniversary.

I ink blended the background and then spritzed with water. I cut that panel down to 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ and then taped it directly to the card base.  For the sentiment I pieced together two sentiment stamps which I really hate doing. I never get them lined up properly. I popped up the cacti on foam tape and then added the clear Nuvo drops. I like how the color shows through after they are dry. I definitely need to practice on those drops though. Some are pretty lopsided.

Hopefully it won't be another 9 months before my next card :-) Thanks for looking!!

Supplies:

Stamps: A Second Helping of Sunshine (pti)

Paper: White, Tropical Teal, New Leaf, Green Parakeet, Hibiscus Burst, Raspberry Fizz, Canyon Clay (pti)

Dies: To The Point (Concord & 9th)

Ink: Versafine Onyx Black; Distress Oxides (Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin)

Other: Morning Dew (Nuvo Crystal Drops); black marker to do the exclamation point, foam tape, blending brushes

Happy Anniversary

Some friends at church are celebrating their anniversary on 2/2. I guess that would be an easy date to remember :-)  I made them this card.

I have been playing with different Concord & 9th turnabout sets.  This is their wreath turnabout and it can give so many looks. Since their anniversary is close to Valentine's Day I went with the pink colors.

I added a strip of vellum in the middle to soften the look and hold the sentiment. I looked at both plain vellum and the polka dot vellum and ended up picking the polka dot. It just seemed to add something extra.

I used my Glimmer machine for the sentiment. I just can't get enough of glimmering :-)  I also added some pretty pink metallic paper at both the top and the bottom. I thought it would go with the the sentiment.

Well I hope that you liked my anniversary card. Thanks for stopping by!

Anniversary card for my brother and SIL

Hi!  I have a few new goodies and some time to stamp. My brother's anniversary is coming up. I wanted a card not too flowery and thought this worked pretty well.

I love plaid and I just got a stamp by Concord & 9th called Sketched Stripes Background. I stamped the stripes once in each direction in Weathervane and then again in Tattered Rose DOX.

I played with various combos of ink for the sentiment and ended up with Smokey Shadow, Melon Berry and Weathervane. It gets your attention and the shading is not too in your face.

I like the shape of the Elegant Rectangle Stax dies but really had hoped that there would be less space between the dies. I guess next time I will trim down the outer layer.

At this point something was missing and I played for a long time before realizing that a simple polka dot strip would do the trick.

I think this would be great for a masculine card for any occasion. My SIL's birthday is coming up soon so I will give her a more feminine card then :-)

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card!

Paper: White, Weathervane, Melon Berry Pattern Pack (pti)

Dies: Elegant Rectangle STAX Die-namics (mft)

Card Concept Challenge #52

It's The Card Concept's 2nd Anniversary and look at this beautiful inspiration photo!

I used Embroidered Blooms on another card recently and really wanted to use it again. I thought it would be very elegant in the black/gray/vanilla color scheme.  My style is Clean & Simple so I tried to keep doo dads to a minimum :-)

The leaves are slightly popped up on clear, foam dimensionals. The sequins give it some extra pizzaz.

Check out the rest of the design team and join in the 2nd anniversary fun!

Happy 63rd Anniversary

I can't believe that it's been 2 months since my last post. Wow!

My mom & dad celebrated their 63rd anniversary yesterday. This is the card that I made for them. It's not a great pic as I had to take the picture quickly and then we headed out the door to dinner.

I first stamped the word "anniversary" so that I would know where to place the leaves which I did next. I die cut the word "happy" 4 times, glued them together and then glued them down on the card. The last addition was some Perler beads that I had previously melted in my oven.  You can't really tell in the picture but the top layer is on dimensionals on the Chocolate Chip layer.  That's it. Now that I look at the card I wish that I had added some ink speckles. Oh well. Next time.

Thanks for stopping by today. I'll try to get back into the swing of card making a bit more regularly :-)

SUPPLIES:
Stamps: Leaf Prints, Wet Paint (PTI)
Paper: Chocolate Chip (SU), white (PTI)
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry
Other: Wet Paint Cuts Die (PTI), Perler beads

Happy Anniversary to my DH Plus cQc #208

Today is our anniversary and this is the card that I gave to my husband. We are building a house on 10 acres and he just bought himself a tractor so that he and the land can become one :-)  I got the SU set "Harvest Blessings" with that in mind. When looking through my sets for a sentiment I thought PTI's "Pedal Pusher" was perfect.

Here you can see some of the layers. I normally would have added a smaller enamel dot but that one was sitting on my desk abandoned from a previous project.

Here is the inside. I added the date with the new SU Remember This and That Rotary Stamp. I'm a bit disappointed in it. The 3 and 0 are pretty far apart.

This card also works for this week's colourQ Challenge.  I added Crumb Cake.

That's it. Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Stamps: Harvest Blessings, Remember This and That Rotary Stamp (SU), Pedal Pusher (PTI)
Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Basic Black (SU)
Ink: Crumb Cake, Basic Black
Accessories: Twine, black enamel dot, dimesionals
Tools: Linen & Canvas Impression Plate, Tag Sale #3 die (PTI), Fishtail Flag Stax (MFT)

Happy 4th Anniversary!

This card is for my daughter and SIL on their 4th anniversary.  I really like this color combo of Pool Party, Winter Wisteria and Lucky Limeade.  I tried adding some hearts to the center but they just weren't working for me so I went really simple with just the sentiment.  I wanted to make sure that it would stand out so I embossed the sentiment with clear embossing powder.  The stamped layer is popped up on dimensionals to give it a bit of depth. Happy Anniversary Vickie and Brian!

SUPPLIES:
Stamps: Watercolor Wonder (PTI), Hugs & Wishes (SU)
Paper: Whisper White (SU)
Ink: Pool Party, Winter Wisteria and Lucky Limeade (SU), black
Accessories: My Mind's Eye enamel dots, clear embossing powder, dimensionals

Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad

Lots of anniversaries this month. My parents, my bro & SIL and also mine & my hubbies at the end of the month.  This card is for my parents.  It also was able to get in two challenges.  The iSpy sketch challenge (ISSC31) and also the Color Throwdown (CTD208).

I wanted to play with my new PTI stamp set Heart-2-Heart #7.  I first punched the larger flower out of Melon Mambo pattern pack and then found a Soft Subtle button to go on top with a little bit of white Baker's twine accent.  I played around with the layout until I found one I liked and then stamped the smaller flower. The stem & leaf are Garden Green, the flower is Pink Pirouette and the center brad is Always Artichoke.  Then I stamped the stem & leaves of the larger flower and popped up the flower on a dimensional.  The sentiment is and SU set called Family Reunion.  This is also popped up on dimensionals.  The white panel I think was 4x4" (it's gone in the mail so I can't measure it) and two of the corners have been rounded.  The green ribbon I think is SU Wasabi, now retired,  but it's downstairs and I'm too lazy to go look right now.  Oops. Did I really say that.  The little heart is PTI Tiny Tags stamped in Melon Mambo and tied with Baker's Twine.  I think that's it. Thanks for checking out my card.

Supplies:
Stamps: PTI Heart-2-Heart #7 & TIny Tags; SU Family Reunion

InkSU Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, and Garden Green
Accessories: Baker's twine, SU Soft Subtles button, SU ribbon, dimensionals, Always Artichoke brad
Tools: Heart-2-Heart #7 die, Nestabilities oval dies

3rd Anniversary

This card is for my daughter & SIL's 3rd anniversary.  I realized when finished that there is no stamping on the outside of this card but it does say Happy Anniversary on the inside.  Instead I used my new Timeless Type Alphabet Junior Sizzlets by Stampin'Up that I just got for my birthday last month to punch out the 3 from textured Pool Party card stock. This is layered on a Soft Suede circle which is popped up on a dimensional.  Also new (again for my birthday) is the Nestability Lacey Circle punched out of textured Daffodil Delight and layered on another Soft Suede circle. This too is popped up on a dimensional.  I then cut 4 squares from Attic Boutique DSP and placed those on a large square of Soft Suede. Below that is another piece of Attic Boutique with a lower border made with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch and the upper border cut from the textured Daffodil Delight. Lastly a piece of Pool Party seam binding was tied around it all. Thanks for stopping by!

All supplies Stampin'Up unless noted:
Paper: Pool Party smooth and textured, Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight textured, Attic Boutique DSP
Accessories: Pool Party Seam Binding
Tools: Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Sizzlets, Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch, circle & square punches, Nestability Lacey Circle die
