Hello Scribbles

I finally got my Papertrey order. It was delayed along the way (late train was the explanation) but now it's here and I'll be making cards using my new stuff this week.  When I saw Circle Scribbles by Papertrey I knew it was a set that I had to have.  For this card I turned the circles into flowers. First I stamped the back of the stamp to create a background and then I stamped the scribbles. So much fun and so simple to create.

You can't see it well but I ran the base layer of the card through my Big Shot with the Rustic Burlap impression plate. It is pretty subtle.

This card is for 2 challenges this week.  First is The Card Concept to use a floral theme. I'll call this the Clean & Simple style.

The second challenge is Color Throwdown 281.

I'll have another scribbly card tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Circle Scribbles, Mini Blooms (PTI)
Paper: White (PTI)

CTD275 and More Dots

I hope your weather is better than here in the Pacific NW. It's been pea soup fog for the last 2 days. I'm pretty tired of the gray!!  So when it's yucky outside it's a good time to hit the craft room.  Here's a simple one layer card made for the Color Throwdown Challenge which also has dots for the CAS-ology Challenge.  Since I have a cold one layer was about all I could handle :-)

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!

SUPPLIES:
Stamps: Many Dots (Hero Arts), Birthday Bash Sentiments (PTI)
Paper: Neenah Solar White
Ink: Crumb Cake, Wisteria Wonder, Garden Green, Almost Amethyst (SU), Onyx Black (Versafine)

Color Throwdown #250

Hi!  I've been absent for awhile because I've been on vacation. Actually I still am traveling but while I was visiting my daughter we had time to stamp. In between playing with my 5 month old cutie pie grandson that is! So I got one card made for the Color Throwdown Challenge.

I just got the new Stampin'Up set Six Sided Sampler and so I put it to work.  I stamped one hexagon in Melon Mambo, 2 hexagons in So Saffron and 2 hexagons in Hawaiian Shores. (They really are the same color though they look different in the picture).  Each hexagon is popped up on a dimensional. I stamped the sentiment in Smokey Shadow, snipped the ends to make the flags and popped it up on dimensionals as well. That's it. Pretty easy.  Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Six Sided Sampler (SU), World's Greatest (PTI)
Paper: Kraft, Whisper White (SU)
Ink: Melon Mambo, So Saffron (SU), Smokey Shadow, Hawaiian Shores (PTI)
Accessories: Dimensionals

Another 4th of July CTD #247 Card

My second card today is also for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge. It was a bit more work than the first card.  Here's the challenge:

I used the new PTI set "Round Repeats" for the focus with a rhinestone in the center.  I added a strip of Night of Navy retired print DSP to the left and a piece of red card stock on the bottom that I ran through my Big Shot with a dots embossing folder. Then I stamped the sentiment and added the die cut the letters.  There actually was a bit more fussing, moving, snipping, twiddling going on but you don't need to know about all that :-)

I didn't get a very good picture of the rhinestone. I think I'll have to go back and try that again.

Supplies:
Stamps: Round Repeats, Stylish Sentiments: Birthday (PTI)
Paper: White, Real Red, Crumb Cake, Night of Navy Prints DSP ret. (SU)
Ink: Night of Navy, Real Red, Crumb Cake (SU)
Accessories: Typeset Alphabet dies (SU ret.), rhinestone (SU)

Happy 4th of July and CTD #247

The 4th of July is quickly approaching and I thought I better get my cards done.  I made 2 cards today and they are both for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge.

The 1st card is a series of layered stars. I contemplated several different colors for the card base but decided to go with a simple white background and to pierce around the star.

Both the largest star and smallest stars are up on dimensionals.  A rhinestone finishes off the center star.

The 2nd card is coming up. Stay tuned!

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies by Stampin'Up unless noted:

Stamps: Wonderful Words
Paper: White, Night of Navy, Real Red, Crumb Cake

Flying By With a Quick Card (CTD246 & Simon Says...Transport)

I went down to my stamping room to put some things away and my new Flying By stamp set was sitting on the table. It was too much to resist.  Just a quick card. Shouldn't take too long. Right?

I had already checked my computer for color challenges this morning and thought I could dash out these little planes in the colors of this week's Color Throwdown Challenge and the Simon Says Challenge is "transportation".

I popped one of the planes up on a dimensional so it's not a totally one layer card.

Thanks for flying by!  Have a great week!

Supplies:
Stamps: Flying By (Lawn Fawn), Happy Trails (PTI)
Paper: White (PTI)
Ink: Pear Pizzaz, Blushing Bride, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Basic Black (SU)

Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad

Lots of anniversaries this month. My parents, my bro & SIL and also mine & my hubbies at the end of the month.  This card is for my parents.  It also was able to get in two challenges.  The iSpy sketch challenge (ISSC31) and also the Color Throwdown (CTD208).

I wanted to play with my new PTI stamp set Heart-2-Heart #7.  I first punched the larger flower out of Melon Mambo pattern pack and then found a Soft Subtle button to go on top with a little bit of white Baker's twine accent.  I played around with the layout until I found one I liked and then stamped the smaller flower. The stem & leaf are Garden Green, the flower is Pink Pirouette and the center brad is Always Artichoke.  Then I stamped the stem & leaves of the larger flower and popped up the flower on a dimensional.  The sentiment is and SU set called Family Reunion.  This is also popped up on dimensionals.  The white panel I think was 4x4" (it's gone in the mail so I can't measure it) and two of the corners have been rounded.  The green ribbon I think is SU Wasabi, now retired,  but it's downstairs and I'm too lazy to go look right now.  Oops. Did I really say that.  The little heart is PTI Tiny Tags stamped in Melon Mambo and tied with Baker's Twine.  I think that's it. Thanks for checking out my card.

Color Throwdown #171

I saw the Color Throwdown this week and really liked the colors (Bravo Burgundy, Creamy Caramel, Soft Suede & Old Olive) so decided to play.  I wanted to use Mary Fish's technique of coloring the silver glimmer paper so I punched the ornament and colored it with Old Olive ink.  I did it twice but I still don't think that you can see it very well.  I like these colors but feel that the card is just sort of drab, especially for a Christmas card.  I may have to try this again.

The base of the card is Bravo Burgundy. The layers are Soft Suede, Creamy Caramel and finally Soft Suede again which I ran through a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The decoration on the ornament is stamped on vanilla cardstock with B.B. craft ink and embossed with clear powder then popped up on a dimensional.  The ornament is also on a dimensional on a layer of vanilla and Creamy Caramel.  A piece of Old Olive grosgrain ribbon is the final touch.

Stamps: Delightful Decorations
Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Creamy Caramel, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Silver Glimmer paper
Ink: Old Olive, Bravo Burgundy (craft)
Accessories: Embossing folder,  Old Olive 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, gold cord (SU ret.), 3/4" circle punch, rhinestone, dimensionals, red sticky tape, clear embossing powder
