Hi Everyone! The challenge at The Card Concept is to use this beautiful photo of butterflies as your inspiration.
I started looking through some of my older stamp sets and realized that I have a lot of wonderful sets that weren't getting any love. So I went with this retired SU set called Shapes & Shadows. Do you remember it? I've always thought those little butterflies were so cute!
I stamped up the right side of the card in a rainbow of colors and added the sentiment. That's what makes a Clean & Simple card. Right?
I've loved seeing everyone's creations so far and can't wait to see more in the coming week. Thanks for stopping by!!
SUPPLIES:
Stamps: Shapes & Shadows (SU retired), Think Big Favorites #22 (PTI)
Paper: Neenah Solar White, Hawaiian Shores (PTI)
Ink: (Starting from the top) Winter Wisteria, Spring Moss, Simply Chartreuse, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Lemon Tart, Summer Sunrise, Sweet Blush, Pure Poppy, Tropical Teal (PTI); Versafine Onyx Black
Other: dimensionals
Edited 6/24: Yippee!!! My card was chosen as one of the winners for this challenge!

The Card Concept DT Call
I'm taking the plunge and entering a card in the Design Team Call for The Card Concept Challenge. I love the Clean and Simple style of design. My style varies from CAS to Layers to Graphic but I'm entering this into the Clean and Simple style category. I love my white space! This challenge is such a great inspiration for the various styles of design and I'd love to be a part of the team!
I used Challenge 32 as my inspiration. The coral, green and aqua colors are such a beautiful color combination.
For this card I used a new set by Papertrey called Quilted: Summer. It makes these fun little pinwheels. I added some enamel dots in the centers to make them pop.
Thanks for stopping by and best of luck to all who enter the Design Team Challenge!
SUPPLIES:
Stamps: Quilted: Summer, Bitty Bouquets (PTI)
Paper: White (PTI)
Ink: Hawaiian Shores, Berry Sorbet, New Leaf, Smokey Shadow (PTI)
Other: Quilted: Summer dies (PTI), Traditional Tag Stax (MFT), Enamel dots (Recollections), foam tape for dimension, twine, 1/8" hole punch

Flying By With a Quick Card (CTD246 & Simon Says...Transport)
I went down to my stamping room to put some things away and my new Flying By stamp set was sitting on the table. It was too much to resist. Just a quick card. Shouldn't take too long. Right?
I had already checked my computer for color challenges this morning and thought I could dash out these little planes in the colors of this week's Color Throwdown Challenge and the Simon Says Challenge is "transportation".
I popped one of the planes up on a dimensional so it's not a totally one layer card.
Paper: White (PTI)
Ink: Pear Pizzaz, Blushing Bride, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Basic Black (SU)
Accessories: Flying By die (Lawn Fawn)

More Sketched Shapes
I have a couple more cards using Sketched Shapes by PTI.
The first is a case of a card by Maile Belles. I love her work. I really need to practice keeping my lines straight.
The second is also a case. I went with the same colors as the previous card. They were on my desk so I used them. I stamped the 3 flag images first with the intention of cutting off the bottom like the card I cased but I decided to leave it as it. Then I punched out the birthday from Summer Starfruit paper and added the sentiment above it. To spice it up I added the black dots to the left and a turquoise dot on the right. Thanks for looking!

Watercolor ?
This is the easy way to watercolor. Papertrey's new stamp set Watercolor Wonder. I used this week's ColourQ challenge to get me started and then I was off. Random stamping does not come easy to me. I like things organized but I think this turned out.
After stamping the background I focused on the sentiment. I die cut the word Hello from Cherry Cobbler and then stamped over it also in cherry Cobbler with PTI's new Wonderful Words: Hello stamp. I originally thought I would just layer on the die cut sentiment but the backgound was too busy for that and the word got lost so I thought to layer something behind and my daughter suggested the tag. I think that sets if off much better. I added a bit of seam binding to the tag that my daughter had on hand from one her projects. It was squirted with water, scrunched and then microwaved to give it the scrunchy effect. All in all I like how this turned out for my first try with this set :-)
