4th of July

Well I'm behind on my 4th of July cards. It has been so cold here in the NW that it hardly seems like it could nearly be the 4th....but the calendar marches on.

I got this set called July Fourth when it retired last year so this is my first chance to ink it up.  The base card is Riding Hood Red which I emobossed with the dots folder.  The blue panels are retired Night of Navy print pattern paper with a white layer underneath. The stars are stamped in Riding Hood Red and punched out with the star punch which is retiring. Today is the last day to purchase that punch from SU.  I popped up the stars on dimensionals. The sentiment, from the hostess set Afterthoughts, is also stamped in RHR.  The star bursts are stamped in Night of Navy and then I put on highlights with a Starburst Gelly Roll pen to give them a twinkle.  Well I better get this card in the mail :-)  Happy 4th everyone!

In Color Teacups

This card is cased from the cover of the July Stampin Success magazine. I love the little bird they used which is from a new set coming out in July.  I can't wait to order him :-)

I used my stamp-a-majig to line up the teacups on the white panel. They are stamped in this year's new In Colors. The hello stamped in Elegant Eggplant which matches the Wisteria beautifully and was then punched out with the Word Window punch and a second piece of Wisteria was layered underneath to give it a bit more dimension.  The flower button is also Eggplant.  The sentiment was then popped up on a dimensional.

I love the new In Colors but does anyone else think they are really similar to Cameo Coral, Kiwi Kiss, Soft Sky, Blue Bayou and a light Vintage Violet?  I'll have to do a stamp comparison and then post my results. Thanks for stopping by.

Stamps: Tiny Teacup
Paper: Kraft, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White
Ink: Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant
Accessories: Word Window punch, Rich Regal button, 1/8" white taffeta ribbon, scallop border punch, stamp-a-majig, dimensionals

I almost forgot to mention that this card is also for FTL144.  I just reversed the layout.

It's an Event Full Graduation

My cousin's son is graduating so I needed a grad card. I thought for a boy simple would be the best way to go and this is about as simple as you can get.  Event Full is an old hostess set but it's still kinda fun to play with.  The middle panel is popped up on dimensionals.

Stamps: Event Full
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Lattice EF, Black grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals

p.s. My daughter case'd my card (isn't that sweet) but reversed the colors. Her card is white on black and I really like the look of it. Check it out.

Stampin'Up Headquarters

I got to visit the Stampin'Up headquarters when I was in Utah in May.  It's absolutely gorgeous.

More Blossom Bouquet Punch

Well I guess I'm having fun with this punch as I have another card today. This was really quick and easy to do. I got the colors from the color coach and they are bright and fun. Have a great day!

Bits and Pieces

When you punch flowers with the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch you end up with unused bits and pieces of flowers. Well I couldn't let these go to waste so I made this card to use some up. It's a pretty straight forward CAS card :-)

Bold Blossom

My daughter makes amazing clean and simple cards. I love her style and used one of her layouts as a starter for this card. Check her card out here.   I changed my card a bit due to the size of the Bold Blossom flower.   The punched out flower is popped up on dimensionals and the oval panel is also on dimensionals.  I cut out tags in Cherry Cobbler and Not Quite Navy to tie the color scheme together and added a linen thread bow. I hope you like my version :-)

Plane & Simple

This is my first use of the Plane & Simple set and since Father's Day is coming up it worked out perfectly. I started with the layout for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge but ended up turning the main panel slightly. I used the Lattice embossing folder on the left panel. I used the mat pack to line up the brads but the holes in the mat pack are crooked so guess what, my brads are crooked. Grrhh!! The plane is up on dimensionals and the panel that the plane sits is on is also on dimensionals. Have a great day!

The Open Sea

Well I'm here in Utah and I brought what stamping supplies I could cram into my rolling bag. I got my order from the Summer Mini just before leaving so of course that came with me. I decided to make a card for this week's Clean and Simple challenge.   I must say that I am really frustrated with the color in the photo.  The Not Quite Navy looks more like blue.  Does anyone else have this trouble?  I have a Canon camera.  Do other brands have more true color?  I guess I need to research this. Anyway, here is my card.

FTL141

The card is pretty straight forward. I stamped the ship, cut it out, attached it to the NQN circle and then popped that up on a dimensional. The sentiment is also on a dimensional.

Stamps: The Open Sea, Best Dad Ever
Paper: Early Espresso, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White, Nautical Expedition DP
Ink: Early Espresso, Not Quite NAvy
Accessories: Scallop Border punch, circle punch, Word Window punch, Modern Label punch, Bakers twine, scissors

New Blossom Tripple Layer Punch & Bold Blossom

Well I've been missing for a couple weeks because my husband and I drove across country from Washington (state) to Atlanta to visit my daughter and her husband.  I think I'm in stamping withdrawal and we're leaving again in 2 days for a 2 week trip.  I'm going to try to take stamping supplies with me on this trip but how do I pick what to take with me.  Quite the conundrum!

I just received new stuff from the Summer mini so had to get a quick card in before leaving.

I played around with the new triple layer punch and ended up with the outer layer punch from Real Red Print DP, the middle layer Real Red and the top layer Regal Rose.   The close up is a little blurry (never try to take pictures when you're in a hurry. The camera knows!)  There is a dimensional between the Real Red print layer and the Real Red/Regal Rose layer.  The rest of the card is pretty straight forward.

Stamps: Bold Blossom
Paper: Real Red, Regal Rose, Real Red Print DP, Whisper White
Ink: Old Olive
Accessories: Blossom Bouquet triple layer punch, stick on pearl, Real Red 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals
