DD #79

Hi! It's a perfectly gray, gloomy Pacific NW day today and a good day to make cards.

I just got this cute little tree border die and had some fun making cards yesterday afternoon. I really like how this card turned out using black and silver for this week's Dynamic Duos challenge.

This would have been much easier if I'd also had the pine background die that goes with the border die but SSS was out of stock. Ah well!  I first stamped the sentiment and then embossed the snow. Next I attached the black tree border using glue. I die cut the trees again out of silver paper. Before piecing in the silver pieces I pressed the embossed flakes within the tree outline down flat. My QuickStik tool was a lifesaver for picking up those tiny little pieces and putting them in place.

Well I'm only about half done with my Christmas cards. Lots more to make and I still have packing to do for our move next month. Back to it. Have a great day!

SUPPLIES:
Stamps: 'Tis The Season Sentiments (PTI)
Paper: Basic Black (SU), White (PTI), silver
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Other: Pine Border Outline die (Memory Box), Dots #5 EF (Sizzix), Baker's twine

Edited:  WAHOO! My card was chosen as a Dynamic Duo Runner Up!

New Ink Splash & DD#66

Good Morning! It's a beautiful, sunny day in the Pacific NW!  Today I have a card for the Dynamic Duos Challenge using a set I just got called Ink Splash.  The challenge is to use Pool Party and Black. These two colors are wonderful together!

I usually fuss and fuss over my cards but this one came together quickly.  I stamped the ink splashes, added the sentiment and followed it up with some dots and sequins. The white/black layers are popped up on dimensionals - kinda hard to see that. Have a great day! I think I'll go make some more ink splashes :-)

Supplies:
Stamps: Ink Splash (Neat and Tangled), Side by Side Sentiments (PTI)
Paper: Pool Party, Basic Black, Whisper White (SU)
Ink: Pool Party (SU), Versafine Onyx
Accessories: Pool Party Candy Dot (SU), silver rhinestone (Recollections), black sequins (Avery Elle), dimensionals

Edited 8/24: Wahoo!! My card was chosen for an Honorable Mention. Yay!

Flying By Again for Dynamic Duos #57 & Simon Says...Transport

I just couldn't resist making another paper airplane card today. It was just calling my name :-)

This is for the Dynamic Duos Challenge to use Pear Pizzaz and Black and the Simon Says...Transport Challenge.

I guess I have too heavy a hand cuz I kept mushing the plane's trail. I'd stamp it on scrap paper and then when I did it on the card...smoosh! And it's really hard to see in the picture but the white panel on the right side is up on dimensionals.  There you have it.  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Stamps: Flying By (Lawn Fawn)
Paper: White (PTI), Black (SU)
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Basic Black (SU)
Accessories: Dimensionals

Dynamic Duos #55 and Freshly Made Sketches #88

I'm back home from visiting my daughter in Atlanta.  Since I live in Washington (the state), it takes me a few days to get my body back in sync from the time change. I haven't stamped in a few days and wanted to get back to it so I spent some time in my craft room yesterday evening.

This card is for the Freshly Made Sketches and Dynamic Duos Challenges.

I stamped the bicycle and was so proud of myself because the 2 parts lined up perfectly. Next came the basket. Not too bad.  Finally the presents. OK, here is where things broke down. I used markers so that I could get 2 colors.  Not great looking but I could live with it. Next was the bows.  Really didn't think much of the bows after I stamped them so I added some Dazzling Details to give them sparkle. Ah, looked pretty good.  I went on to stamp the sentiment, I punched the border, added the Raspberry strip at the bottom and now it's time to pop up the bicycle panel on dimensionals.

Surely by now the bows are dry. Right?  Not even close. I smooshed them big time! Now what to do?  I'm almost done and I've wrecked the bows!  So I sort of scraped around them, added a bit more Dazzling Details and let it sit overnight.  My husband says no one will know. Shh! Don't tell.

The bows do sparkle prettily and I guess they don't look so bad in real life :-)

The Challenges:

Supplies:
Stamps: Pedal Pusher, Sketched Shapes (PTI)
Paper: White, Wisteria Wonder, Raspberry Ripple In Color DSP Stack (SU)
Ink: Wisteria Wonder, Raspberry Ripple, Crumb Cake (SU)
Accessories/Tools: Pedal Pusher die (PTI), Silver Dazzling Details, Dotted Scallop Ribbon punch, dimensionals (SU)

Retro Sketches #63 and Dynamic Duos #52

My original plan was to make a card for The Alley Way Stamps Be Inspired Challenged.  I don't have any TAWS stamps so I printed out the free bird image.  That was a couple days ago. I sat down this afternoon to make a card and got caught up in the Retro Sketches layout and then the Dynamic Duos color challenge and didn't remember that the TAWS challenge was also a color challenge. Oops!  So I guess I don't qualify for that challenge anymore.  I still had fun making this bird card :-)

The DD Challenge is celebrating their one year anniversary and they are letting up pick from all their past challenges. I chose the yellow and black combo from DD#3.

Both the bird and the arrow are popped up on dimensionals. Hope you like my little bird. I think he's kinda cute!

Supplies:
Stamps: TAWS free digital bird image, Love Ya Bunches  sentiment (SU), Sketched Shapes (PTI)
Paper: Brights DSP Stack (Daffodil Delight), White  (SU)
Ink: Daffodil Delight marker (SU), Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Teresa Collins & My Mind's Eye enamel dots, dimensionals
Tools: Sketched Shaped die (PTI)

Edited: I got a Dynamic Darling honorable mention for this card. Yay!

DD#50 Birthday

I really like this card over on Kloset Kreations using this week's Dynamic Duos color challenge.  I was casing the card and when I was finished decided to do my own card for the color challenge.  This week's colors are Calypso Coral and Blushing Bride. Well actually I'm not going to post this card yet so  it will be last week's colors.

I just got this new Papertrey set and decided to ink it up. It took some tinkering to get those tickets placed but I think I finally like the end result.  This card is going to my SIL whose birthday is in May so I'll go back and circle the date before sending it to him.  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Stamps: Big Ticket Basics, Think Big #12 (PTI)
Paper: Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral In Color DSP Stack, Kraft (aka Crumb Cake), Whisper White
Ink: Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral and Crumb Cake
Tools: Big Ticket Basics die, Linen & Canvas Impression Plate (PTI)

Dynamic Duos #49 & FTL237

I made a card today for the Dynamic Duos challenge and the Clean & Simple challenge FTL237. This challenge was to use Basic Gray and Basic Black with a dessert option of giving the card a masculine theme. I think my card meets that as well.  For the Clean & Simple challenge I flipped the sketch.

The card itself is pretty simple. I stamped the stripes. Then I stamped and die cut the telephone.  Next up was the bubble sentiment. To me this was the hardest part - cutting around the bubble. Give me a die instead of scissors any day.  After that the celebrate sentiment and then I ran the panel through my Big Shot with the impression plate.  Hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by!

SUPPLIES:
Stamps: Heart-2-Heart #4, Birthday Bash Sentiments, Background Basics: Super Stripes, Comfort Food Additions (PTI); Designer Typeset (SU)
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Gray
Ink: Basic Gray, Basic Black, Basic Black marker for phone dial
Accessories: dimensionals, Linen Impression Plate, Heart-2-Heart #4 die (PTI)

CTS #24 and DD#48

A CAS card today for two challenges. Dynamic Duos #48 and CAS(E) This Sketch #24.

I cut a piece of Bashful Blue prints DSP (2-3/8 x 1-7/8") and then stamped some arrows from the mamaelephant Trifecta set. The sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes was a bit of a cheat. I didn't think Bashful Blue ink would show well enough so it is stamped in Marina Mist.  Then a few enamel dots finished it off. Thanks for looking!

Supplies by Stampin'Up Unless Noted:
Stamps: Trifecta (mamaelephant), Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Subtles DSP Stack, Whisper White
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Marina Mist
Accessories: Enamel dots (My Mind's Eye)

Cloud9 Blog Hop & DD28

Here is my card for the Cloud9 Blog Hop. I started out with more colors but it didn't work and I ended up with just the two.  I'm not even going to tell you how many times I stamped the different rows of Fair Isle Backgrounds until I got them lined up evenly. After I finally got that done I stamped the gingerbread man and layered him up with the Clear Cut Stackers: Pinking Squares and then popped him up with dimensionals on some fishtail flags.

Edit: Even though I made this card yesterday it works pretty well for today's Dynamic Duos so I'm adding it to that as well :-)

I added a little button on the gingerbread man to make him stand out more.   Thanks for stopping by!

1st Halloween Card

Well I'm finally getting to my Halloween cards. This is the first and I hope that I have more to come.  I get to play with new stuff and also meet a couple of challenges -  Dynamic Duos DD#25  color challenge including the dessert option of using a die and also the Pals Paper Arts PP145 sketch challenge.

I die cut the pocket and stamped it in Pumpkin Pie. Then I stamped the bats and embossed them with clear embossing powder. You can't really see it in the picture but it does help pop them out on the card. Then I adhered the pocket with dimensionals. The sentiment from A Pocketful: Halloween was punched out, spritzed with pumpkin pie ink and then also popped with dimensionals.   I used my new Die-Namics Fishtail Flag Stax to cut the flag out of the Black DSP and then backed that with the PP DSP.  It's all on a black card base.  Check back as I hope to have some more Halloween cards soon :-)

Here's the inside

Spooky Bingo Bits

This card accomplishes 3 challenges. Can you believe it!!  Yay!  The Dynamic Duos (DD#20), Retro Sketches (RS#29) and Casual Friday (CFC70).

The card base is embossed with the SU spider web folder.  I stamped 3 different images from Spooky Bingo Bits onto white and matted them with Lucky Limeade & then black. They are popped up on dimensionals on the Lucky Limeade DSP which has a piece of Lucky Limeade behind it. I stamped the "Boo" sentiment from SU's Tiny Tags set onto a die cut tag from PTI also called Tiny Tags. This is tied on with black/white Baker's twine.  Pretty simple!

The Challenges:

Supplies (all Stampin'Up unless noted):
Stamps: Spooky Bingo Bits, Tiny Tags (SU) & Tiny Tags (PTI)
Paper: Lucky Limeade, Basic Black, Whisper White, Lucky Limeade DSP
Ink: Lucky Limeade, Basic Black
Accessories: Baker's twine (non SU), dimensionals
Tools: Tiny Tags die (PTI), Spider Web EF
