colourQ #186

Usually I have to ponder long & hard to come up with a card but this one just popped into my head. It's a really simple one layer card.  I guess that's why :-)  It uses the colors for this week's colourQ challenge.

Not much explanation needed with this one.  Thanks for stopping by!

Dynamic Duos #49 & FTL237

I made a card today for the Dynamic Duos challenge and the Clean & Simple challenge FTL237. This challenge was to use Basic Gray and Basic Black with a dessert option of giving the card a masculine theme. I think my card meets that as well.  For the Clean & Simple challenge I flipped the sketch.

The card itself is pretty simple. I stamped the stripes. Then I stamped and die cut the telephone.  Next up was the bubble sentiment. To me this was the hardest part - cutting around the bubble. Give me a die instead of scissors any day.  After that the celebrate sentiment and then I ran the panel through my Big Shot with the impression plate.  Hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by!

SUPPLIES:
Stamps: Heart-2-Heart #4, Birthday Bash Sentiments, Background Basics: Super Stripes, Comfort Food Additions (PTI); Designer Typeset (SU)
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Gray

More Sketched Shapes

I have a couple more cards using Sketched Shapes by PTI.

The first is a case of a card by Maile Belles.  I love her work.  I really need to practice keeping my lines straight.

The second is also a case.  I went with the same colors as the previous card.  They were on my desk so I used them.  I stamped the 3 flag images first with the intention of cutting off the bottom like the card I cased but I decided to leave it as it. Then I punched out the birthday from Summer Starfruit paper and added the sentiment above it.  To spice it up I added the black dots to the left and a turquoise dot on the right.  Thanks for looking!

Sketched Shapes & cQc185

I got some new PTI toys yesterday and so had to play today.  Here's a card for the colourQ challenge.

I cased a card by Maile Belles.  The circles are stamped in Concord Crush, Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo.  I tried to find some enamel dots in a color close to Poppy Parade. The main panel is popped up on dimensionals. Thanks for looking!

Have you ever taken your pictures, posted to your blog and then when you look at the picture you wish  you had done something differently?  Well I think I wish I had made the smaller reddish enamel dot black.  In my mind that would look better.  Oh well. It is what it is.

Happy 4th Anniversary!

This card is for my daughter and SIL on their 4th anniversary.  I really like this color combo of Pool Party, Winter Wisteria and Lucky Limeade.  I tried adding some hearts to the center but they just weren't working for me so I went really simple with just the sentiment.  I wanted to make sure that it would stand out so I embossed the sentiment with clear embossing powder.  The stamped layer is popped up on dimensionals to give it a bit of depth. Happy Anniversary Vickie and Brian!

SUPPLIES:
Stamps: Watercolor Wonder (PTI), Hugs & Wishes (SU)
Paper: Whisper White (SU)
Ink: Pool Party, Winter Wisteria and Lucky Limeade (SU), black
Accessories: My Mind's Eye enamel dots, clear embossing powder, dimensionals

CTS #24 and DD#48

A CAS card today for two challenges. Dynamic Duos #48 and CAS(E) This Sketch #24.

I cut a piece of Bashful Blue prints DSP (2-3/8 x 1-7/8") and then stamped some arrows from the mamaelephant Trifecta set. The sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes was a bit of a cheat. I didn't think Bashful Blue ink would show well enough so it is stamped in Marina Mist.  Then a few enamel dots finished it off. Thanks for looking!

Supplies by Stampin'Up Unless Noted:
Stamps: Trifecta (mamaelephant), Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Subtles DSP Stack, Whisper White

Happy Birthday to Me

My birthday was last week and I got new stampin' stuff to play with. So that's what I did this afternoon.  I used the ColourQ and CAS(E) This Sketch challenges for inspiration.

I'm loving those little triangles in the Trifecta set by mamaelephant.  I stamped them 3 times and then added the sentiment in Always Artichoke.  I really wanted to use my new enamel dots and thought it might add a bit of interest so I added those next.  They are a bit hard to see but I didn't want them to distract too much. The triangle panel is popped up on dimensionals. The white background panel is embossed with the Linen Impression Plate by PTI but you probably have to look hard to see that in the picture. Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Trifecta (mamaelephant), Mini Blooms (PTI)

Oops!   I wish I'd used a different background for the picture. It looks a bit blah. I was in a hurry as it was getting late in the day and the light was going. Oh well :-)  Thanks for stopping by!
