Paper Sweeties Blog Hop & Challenge #34

Paper Sweeties is turning 3 and they are having a party all during the month of August starting with a blog hop today.

The cupcakes in the inspiration photo (see below) grabbed my attention as did the soft, pretty colors.  I stamped the tops and bottoms of the cupcakes and then punched them out with the coordinating punch.

I added some silver embossed sprinkles to the frosting.

Next I punched out a tag, stamped the sentiment and assembled the cupcakes. Lastly I tied on the Baker's twine.

Happy 3rd birthday Paper Sweeties!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Announcement!

I am so excited to finally be able to announce that Leslie at The Card Concept challenge asked me to be on the Design Team. Happy Dance! I will be on the Clean and Simple team which is my favorite style with all that lovely white space :-)  The challenge is on summer break right now but watch for us to be back with a new challenge on September 9th.

I should also mention that I won't be posting many cards in the coming weeks. We are heading to Glacier National Park on Monday for a wonderful week with our daughters, SIL and 2 year old grandson. I can't wait! Then we are helping our oldest daughter move to Ohio to go back to school.

So I hope that you will join us September when The Card Concept Challenge returns. We have a lot of talented ladies on the team and I'm honored to be a member!

The Card Concept Challenge #38

The current challenge at The Card Concept is a color challenge. Yellow and gray is such a pretty combo!

I love daisies so the inspiration photo really spoke to me. I was going to use my new PTI set Bloomers as a background for the sentiment but I really liked the delicate little flowers that came with the Graceful Greetings set so I went with this instead. I got the pattern paper at Michaels yesterday.  6 sheets for a $1. Such a deal!!  The tag is popped up on dimensionals.  A very CAS design with lots of white space.

Have a great 4th of July tomorrow!

Paper: White (PTI), Honeycomb pattern paper (Recollections)
Ink: Harvest Gold, Smokey Shadow (PTI), Soft Granite (Hero Arts)

Happy 4th of July & Retro Rubber Challenge Take 2

OK, I'm trying the Retro Rubber challenge again and following the rules. I'm using an old SU set called July Fourth.

Here's what I did:

• Stamped the fireworks up the left side
• Cut the white overlay panel to show off the fireworks
• Stamped the sentiment & stars
• Added some clear glaze over the stars which you can't see in the photo but looks nice IRL
• Added silver metallic ink inside the sentiment

Here's the challenge:

Thanks for stopping by. Looking forward to a great July!
