PTI Create Along With Us

I have been inspired by all the PTI design team projects for this month's release. I needed to make a thank you card for a friend of mine and really liked this card by Heather and so am playing along with Create With Us this month.  Here is my card.

In place of the gourds I used leaves from the Leaf Prints set.  I have been playing around with alcohol inks and had a few of my trial pieces on my table so I cut them out and then embossed the leaf veins with gold embossing powder.  The orange leaf also has a bit of gold foil on it.

I die cut "friend" three times and adhered with glue and then used Nuvo gloss drops to dot the i.

Here's a close up.

That's it. Thanks for stopping by.

Thinking of You

Jennifer McGuire recently posted a video on creative uses of embossing folders.  My daughter and I played with this technique and this is my card.

I added Perfect Pearls to the raised areas but you can't see it in the photo and even in real life it doesn't show up much.  I used Nuvo drops to dot the i's. Much easier than trying to glue the tiny little die cut and I love how close a color match it is :-)

Thanks for looking!

Skinny Note Pads

I thought I would post these note pads that I made last May as gifts since Papertrey's Make It Live video this week used the same note pads but a different cover.

I used my Cinch and 3/8" coils to bind the top. I used some light weight cardboard that I had saved from who knows what for the covers. I then ran assorted dsp from Stampin'Up and Papertrey through my Xyron to apply adhesive to the back & applied the dsp to the covers. There are 2 note pads in each one applied with sticky tape adhesive. I tied on a pen using Baker's twine to complete the gift.

Specifics:
White cardboard backing: 2-1/2 x 8-1/2"
DSP: 2-1/2 x 8"

Fun with the Colorblock Stencil

It's been a busy summer and I am now getting some time to play with some of my new stuff.

I needed a birthday card and so I adapted this card to a slightly different layout.  The corners use the new PTI Color Block Stencils with Distress Oxide ink. This ink is new to me and I got it because it looked like it really blended smoothly in the videos that I watched and I have to say that I really like how it looks. I added some Nuvo gloss drops, also new for me, and they are really fun to play with.  I hope you like my adaptation of Betsy's card :-)
