Card Concept Challenge #52

It's The Card Concept's 2nd Anniversary and look at this beautiful inspiration photo!

I used Embroidered Blooms on another card recently and really wanted to use it again. I thought it would be very elegant in the black/gray/vanilla color scheme.  My style is Clean & Simple so I tried to keep doo dads to a minimum :-)

The leaves are slightly popped up on clear, foam dimensionals. The sequins give it some extra pizzaz.

Check out the rest of the design team and join in the 2nd anniversary fun!

SUPPLIES:
Stamps: Embroidered Blooms (PTI), Off the Grid (SU)
Paper: Very Vanilla (SU)
Ink: Soft Granite (Hero Arts Shadow Ink), Onyx Black (Versafine)
Other: Turning a New Leaf die (PTI), Kool Tak clear foam, sequins (Avery Elle)

Happy Birthday DD!

My birthday and my daughter's are 3 days apart. We usually get to celebrate together but last fall she went back to grad school to get her doctorate. Since she is now several thousand miles away I won't be there but she is able to visit with my younger daughter who is also several thousand miles away. What's with that?!!  Anyway, her first celebration was Saturday and her real birthday is today so she gets two cards :-)

I'm using some of the new stuff that I just received from Papertrey.

It took some trial and error with this card but the black strip is cut 9/16". That works pretty well. This card is a case of the one by Lizzie Jones which is quite appropriate since my daughter's name is also Liz.

Happy Birthday Liz!!!

Easter After the Fact

I can't post Easter cards beforehand because my daughters look at my blog so here are the cards that I sent out this year.

The first card is for my 3 year old grandson and is a case of this card.  I think that he turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself.

Next we have a card using Hippy Happily by PTI.

My last card uses Polka Dot Parade, also by PTI. His little cotton tail is cut from shimmery white paper which is hard to see in the picture.

Hubbie's Easter Card

My husband mentioned a couple days ago that he really likes chocolate bunnies at Easter. Well I already got him a chocolate goodie so I put a chocolate bunny on his card instead.

Inside the card it says " . . . Easter" but since I already wrote mushy stuff in there I'm not going to show it :-)

Hope he likes his chocolate bunny!

Papertrey Ink March Blog Hop

Today is Papertrey's monthly blog hop. It's also my birthday and I wanted to have some fun in my craft room.  So I made a birthday card for this month's Papertrey Blog Hop :-)  Here are some of the inspiration photos.

Embroidered Blooms seemed like an obvious choice of sets to use - I suppose everyone else thinks so too :-)

There is Glossy Accents on the flower centers. I never seem to learn my lesson about being patient and waiting for it to dry. I always manage to put my hand in it so there is a smudge spot but I'm not going to tell you where.

Have a great day. I plan on eating lots of Costco chocolate cake later today and playing Dominion with family and friends!

SUPPLIES:
Stamps: Embroidered Blooms (PTI)
Paper: White (PTI)
Ink: Enchanted Evening, Hawaiian Shores, Summer Sunrise, Pure Poppy (PTI), Versafine Onyx Black
Other: Linen/Canvas Impression Plate (PTI), dimensionals, sequins (Avery Elle)

Card Concept Challenge #51

Hi everyone! Our new challenge at The Card Concept is an inspiration photo for spring.

I don't usually have time to do challenges but I do enjoy them and this week's CAS on Sunday sketch was perfect.  I watercolored some pink onto watercolor paper. Then I stamped the nest over this and die cut the circle.  I found some old Pretty in Pink DSP to layer underneath and then stamped the sentiment above. Pretty CAS!

I hope that you will check out the rest of the Design Team and then get busy on the challenge. I'm looking forward to all your pretty cards!

SUPPLIES:
Stamps: Birds & Nests (Cavallini), Delightful Dozen (SU)
Paper: Naturals White, Pretty in Pink DSP (SU), watercolor paper (Canson)
Ink: Dark Chocolate, Lovely Lady (PTI)
Other: Aquapainter, Circle die (Nestabilites), dimensionals (SU)

I stamped the cable car in Ripe Avocado and the accent color is Hawaiian Shores. The birthday sentiments are Dark Chocolate.

The cable car number is 90 for his age. There is also acetate in the windows but you can't see that in the photo.

Thanks for stopping by today! Happy Ides of March!!

It's March and time for a new Card Concept Challenge.  This one is fun!  St. Patrick's Day, green, plaid, dots and shamrocks.  Let your creativity go wild!

I happen to love plaid and I have green eyes so guess what my favorite color is :-)  Also March is my birthday month so I love March!!  For my card I grabbed an old SU set called Got Treats? I really need to use those old sets and this one seemed perfect for the challenge. This card is really simple to make and that's my style - Clean & Simple.

Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team and join in the challenge!!  Don't forget your green on March 17th!!
