The Open Sea for Father's Day

Here are the cards I made for our dads using The Open Sea stamp set.  They both also are for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge FMS39

For the first card I stamped the ship on a piece of textured white card stock in Not Quite Navy and then added the details in Going Gray to the left. This is matted on Not Quite Navy. I cut a 1-1/2" strip from Not Quite Navy pattern pack (ret) and added a piece of Real Red ribbon over that. I tied a piece of white Baker's twine at the top. The ship is popped up on dimensionals.  Then I die cut the letters for dad and glued them on.  Pretty simple but I like the result.

All Supplies Stampin'Up
Stamps: The Open Sea
Paper: Whisper White (regular and textured), Not Quite Navy, Real Red, Not Quite Navy pattern pack
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Going Gray
Accessories: white Baker's twine, 5/8" Real Red grosgrain ribbon
Tools: circle cutter, dimensionals, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet dies (ret)

The second card is basically the same except the card base is Very Vanilla. The ship is also stamped on vanilla although it looks kind of white in the picture. The details behind the ship are stamped in Creamy Caramel.  I used a piece of Not Quite Navy striped ribbon with the red grosgrain and tied a piece of linen thread at the top.
