Stitched Stockings Post It Pads

Yesterday I made a couple more Post It pads this time using the new Stitched Stockings stamp set.  These little stockings are so cute and come in several styles to choose from.

On the left the two stockings are nudged up on top of the ribbon and mounted with dimensionals to give them the look of hanging from the ribbon.  On the right, the stocking is on a dimensional on top of the ovals and then the oval is also on dimensionals.  The dimensionals give just a little bit of added depth that gives that extra punch to the design.  I also added rhinestones which are REALLY hard to photograph but I hope that you can see slightly glimmering in the pics :-)

I didn't want to use the cherry seam binding again and I was having trouble finding ribbon to match the stocking on the right but I found some Baroque Burgundy which I think is a close enough match to the DSP.

Also I have to confess that I keep cheap, white non-SU cardstock that I use for layering etc but I must have grabbed it accidentally (sometimes the scrap piles get mixed up) and stamped the stockings. They are not as crisp as the the reindeer in my previous post. It really does make a difference what cardstock you use!

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Edited 9/18/2020

I just got a request for the dimensions of these little post it pads. I have always loved these cuties! They are quick, easy to make and are great for tuck in gifts! So here are the dimensions:

• The base layer is 6-11/16" x 3-1/8"
• Score at 3-1/8" from each short end and fold on score lines
• Adhere a 3" x 3" post pad inside

Decorate the outside as you like. For these, here is what I did:

• White Layer: 2-7/8 x 2-7/8”

• DSP layer: 2-3/4 x 2-3/4”

I have made a lot of these and will try to post more pictures today. Thanks for taking a look at one of my past projects!

Christmas Post It Pads

Today's craft fair project is Post It pads.  I had to use more of the Frostwood Lodge DSP because I just LOVE it and I thought the reindeer from the Winter Post stamp set would be a nice complement to it.

The base of Cherry Cobbler paper is 6-11/16 x 3-1/8".  I scored at 3-1/8" from each end.

Stamps: Winter Post

Christmas MOJO208

Yeah, I finally get to play in my stamp room. I've been making soap for our church craft fair for a couple weeks but that's done now.  I checked out MOJO Monday 208 and I thought that I could come up with something. It took me a while to get into the swing but I like the results.

I love the new Frostwood Lodge DP in the Holiday Mini and the Stitched Stockings punch is so fun too!  The card is 4-1/4" square and I think everything else is pretty straight forward.

I don't usually decorate the inside but my daughter has inspired me to do it.  You can see her lovely cards here.

Thanks for stopping by!

Spice Cake Post It Pad Holder

Well it's time to really push to make items for my church's upcoming craft fair in November. I'm kinda behind due to family stuff but that's ok.  Here's a post-it note holder made with the delicious Spice Cake DSP in the Holiday Mini catalog.

The outside dimensions are 6-11/16 x 3-1/8". I scored at 3-1/8" from each short end.

Here's a side view to see the layers better.  There are dimensionals between the Spice Cake and flower layer. Also between the flower and the center of the flower. There will be more post-it pads coming soon :-)

Stamps: Posy Punch (hostess)
Paper: Peach Parfait, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Spice Cake DSP
Ink: Pool Party, Peach Parfait
Accessories: Victoria lace ribbon, antique brad, dimensionals, 3/4" circle punch

Pennant Parade Hello

I haven't stamped in about a month because I've been taking care of my parents after my dad's hip surgery.  Mom & Dad are both back home now and I had a few minutes to make a card.  The pennant punch was on my table and some pieces of retired SU designer paper so I grabbed my Pennant Parade stamp set and was off and running.  Here is what I came up with.

It's a simple card and there is a small bloop above one of the hellos.  Don't you just hate when that happens! Oh well.  I used the stamp-a-majig to line up all the hellos but I find it difficult to use it with the acrylic blocks and clear stamps.  I just don't get them lined up as well as with the wood blocks.  I cheated a tiny bit and used non SU yellow/white Bakers twine but that's easy to change out.  The card is also an odd size ( 3-1/2 x 6-1/4") because I wanted it to fit into a standard size envelope.

I can't wait to play some more with new stuff that has been sitting in a box for a month!!

Stamps: Pennant Parade
Paper: Lucky Limeade, Whisper White, retired SU designer paper (don't remember name)
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade
Accessories: In Color brads, Petite Pennants Builder punch, Bakers twine, markers in Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade

Another Springtime Vintage Card

The Springtime Vintage DSP has many looks to it. This side of the paper matches Rose Red & Pear Pizzazz. I really like this as well.  For the button I punched out Rose Red paper with the Itty Bitty Punch Pack flower punch.

Stamps: Warmest Regards
Paper: Kraft, Very Vanilla, Rose Red, Springtime Vintage DSP
Ink: Always Artichoke
Accessories: Rose Red seam binding, Itty Bitty button, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, non-SU Baker's twine

So Happy For You

I got some time in my stamp room this afternoon.  I have the Springtime Vintage DSP and have barely touched it. It is so pretty and I thought I better put it to use. Here is what I came up with.

I cut a piece of Very Vanilla 3 x 4-1/2". Then I cut 2 strips of DSP 1 x 4-1/2" and layered them on the Vanilla piece. This left a place on the vanilla for the sentiment and a button. Finally I tied a piece of Crumb Cake seam binding around this and attached it to a base of Kraft (aka Crumb Cake). The button has a piece of linen thread through it. I think I might have to make a couple more of these using different colors from the Springtime Vintage paper :-)

Stamps: So Happy For You (SAB ret.)
Paper: Kraft, Very Vanilla, Springtime Vintage DSP (ret)
Ink: Not Quite Navy
Accessories: Crumb Cake seam binding, Subtles button, linen thread

Slice of Life

Here is the last card that I made while stamping with my girls.  I used markers on the sentiment. The ribbon was threaded through the button and taped to the back.  The right corner seemed to need something so my daughter suggested the flower brads. It's the perfect final touch.

Stamps: A Slice of LIfe, Warmest Regards
Paper: Early Espresso, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Nursery Necessities (ret)
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Button Bouquet button (ret), Pink Gingham ribbon (ret), scallop border punch, flower brads (only non-SU)

Eggplant Because I Care

I got a new set of scallop Nestabilities ( I forget the exact name right now) and I had to play with them.   Here I have a white base layered with white embossed with the square lattice EF.  I inked up the flower with Wisteria Wonder and then used a sponge dauber to add some Elegant Eggplant highlights. I used a Lucky Limeade marker on the leaves. The eggplant strip is from the Rich Regals Print DSP.

This card is nearly entirely SUO. If you sub a regular scallop punch for the fancy Nestability it would be SUO.

My daughters have been here visiting and we've spent some time stamping. It's been lots of fun! More cards tomorrow :-)

Stamps: Just Because
Paper: Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant Print DSP
Ink: Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant, Lucky Limeade
Accessories: Square lattice EF, Nestabilities, dimensionals, sponge dauber

Masculine Card

I wanted a masculine card so no ribbon or frills. Instead I used my Score-Pal to score double lines above and below the image.

Stamps: Birds and Nests by Cavallini
Paper: Early Espresso Neutral Print DSP, Whisper White
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories: Postage Stamp punch, Score-Pal
